Care Type: Epap

Description

Expiratory Positive Airway Pressure. A simple device (mask or mouthpiece with valve) that creates resistance during exhalation. This back-pressure keeps small airways open longer, facilitates secretion mobilization, and improves ventilation of poorly aerated lung areas. In BO, EPAP helps counteract air trapping and improve airway clearance.
